Happy New Year 2013 & Blogger Widgets as Happy Surprises

Sorry, I guess this post is a little late for this. Well anyways, a splendid and joyous Happy New Year to everyone! 2012’s history chapter just got closed and the sun has now taken a new spin to open the new year’s chapter. On behalf of the entire MBT Blog, I wish that this blessed new occasion may fill up your life with Happiness, bright Cheer and bring to you joy and prosperity for the rest of the shiny blue days that follow. God bless you all throughout the new year buddies and may your incomplete dreams (if any) and goals in life get completed successfully this year and you may return home with a smile every single day. May you make an abundance of sweet and loyal friends this year. The new future surely awaits you!

Your Gift this year?

I have now thought of a healthy tradition that we would give all our loyal and million-dollar worth readers a memorable gift. It took me around 1 hour to craft, slice and then finally hard code carefully structured Blogger widget for the blogging community. Well this is all about customizing your blogger comment box and we will do the following:
  1. Add nofollow to avoid Google Panda.
  2. Customize your Blogger Comment  Box using Jquery and CSS
I know you would think that this is just nothing. Well I am a peanut blogger and designing this was hard for me as I was not prepared and just thought of this tradition

Add Nofollow to comments

Now, first of all, you need to optimize your comments and tag them as nofollow to tell the search engine robots to investigate the link but do not worry where it’s pointing.

Why should you Nofollow Comment Links?

There are two simple reasons,
  • To avoid spammers who just comment in order to steal your PageRank.
  • To avoid your blog from Panda Effect which can decrease your blog traffic by 50%-70% Because comment links are harmful to blog content as it distracts the spiders from your main keywords. As a result, your post will rank lower.
  • How to do It?
  1. Go To Blogger > Design > Edit HTML
  2. Backup your template
  3. Click  .
  4. Search for this,
<a class=’comment-link’
Replace it with this,
<a class=’comment-link’ rel=”nofollow”
5.  Now search for,
<a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl'>
and replace it with this,
<a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl' rel='nofollow'>
6.  Now finally save your template and you are done!

UPDATE: The customization posts have been posted,

In the upcoming posts, we will learn how to customize your comment box and make a cool reply and delete button for it to attract more visitors. Till then take care. Feel like a family here, no reservations, please! I wish you the best of life for you all. May you succeed far more than you dreamed of, may you achieve far bigger milestones than us or anyone you may know. Tomorrow awaits you dear brothers and sisters so go hug it as warmly as you can! Peace and blessings pals! :>
